Installation & use

Simply install Birthday Reminder via the HubSpot Marketplace. 

Then open the settings page in your HubSpot portal. You can access this via Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps > Birthday Reminder.

On the Settings page, you can manage your subscription and the app settings and configure them according to your preferences. 

To use the app, you need an active subscription. To do so, click on ‘Subscribe’ in the “Subscription” section. You can now securely take out your subscription via Stripe and manage and cancel it at any time later. You can also download your invoices or change your preferred payment method via Stripe at any time. Once you have taken out a subscription, return to the Settings page and click on the ‘Refresh billing status’ button. Your subscription will now be displayed as ‘active’. The app is now fully functional.

Please note: Without an active subscription, the app's features will not be available in your portal. No tasks or reminders will be created. 

Under ‘Lead time in days’, you can set how many days before a birthday a task should be created. The default setting is 7 days. This means that 7 days before a contact's birthday, a task is created to remind the desired employee of the birthday. 

Under ‘Recipient selection’, you can set who the task should be assigned to. The default is the ‘Contact Owner’. This means that if a contact has a birthday, a task called ‘Birthday Reminder for Contact Name’ will be created for the ‘Contact Owner’ x days before the birthday.

You can also define a fallback employee. Tasks will be assigned to this employee if the contact does not have a ‘Contact Owner’.

Alternatively, you can assign the tasks to any contact, regardless of who is listed as the ‘Contact Owner’.

Done! Click ‘Save’ to complete the configuration and you can now use the Birthday Reminder in your portal.

After installation, you will have a new property called ‘Birthday (Birthday Reminder)’ in the CRM. Enter the contact's birthday there. Tip: After selecting the date with the birthday in the calendar, you can also overwrite the year of birth using the keyboard. 

For quick processing, we recommend that you display the new property in the default view of your contact detail view.

You also have a new CRM card available. This shows you how many days until the contact's birthday.

You can also add this card to your default view.
